During the biannual spring Servolution Good Neighbors Blitz, organizers took a moment to honor Mayor Alan Brundrett for 17 blitzes’ worth of hands-on support and his pivotal role in helping bring the community service movement to Azle in the first place. Organizers with the local nonprofit Servolution Network spoke about Brundrett’s commitment to the project.

“He’s not only been the mayor for a very long time, but he’s been an avid supporter of Servolution since the beginning,” Cassie Long, Servolution executive assistant said in an interview with the Azle News. “He was actually a big reason why Servolution came to be. He introduced Jason (Malewski) to another organization called 6 Stones out of HEB that does something similar and they mentored Jason on how to create Servolution here.”

Since then, Brundrett hasn’t just supported from the sidelines. He’s shown up time and time again to get the job done.
