2024 was a banner year for the Azle Memorial Library.

At a March 18 meeting of the Azle City Council, Azle Memorial Library Director Curren McLane presented a year-in-review, highlighting the library’s growth in usage and services.

McLane said that out of 515 libraries in Texas, the Azle Memorial Library ranks 202nd in terms of population served, with an estimated 18,000 people relying on its resources. However, in terms of checkouts, the library punches above its weight, ranking 76th in the state. McLane remarked this was an impressive feat for a library of its size.
