Five Azle High School seniors were recognized for their academic and extracurricular achievements by the Rotary Club of Azle during a March 6 meeting.

Tyson Schreier

Tyson Schreier is the son of Molly and Trevor Schreier. He is ranked 25th in his class with a grade point average of 101.55. Schreier is interested in pursuing a degree in finance, business, mathematics or communications at Arizona State University or the University of Texas at Arlington. He is proud of maintaining exceptional grades throughout high school. Additionally, he has been a regional qualifier in pole vault for two consecutive years. Schreier describes himself as smart, determined and outgoing. He believes his greatest strength is his natural ability to grasp academic concepts quickly. However, he acknowledges he can be tough on himself when he does not meet his high standards. To address this, he works on allowing himself more grace while maintaining his motivation to succeed. Outside of academics, Schreier has been involved in varsity track and is a member of the National Honor Society. He also works at Mr. Jim's Pizza, where he has been an insider for nine months and is soon to be promoted to manager. In his free time, he enjoys lifting, running, spending time with friends, and as he humorously puts it, "spending money."
