The city of Azle is currently working on a possible fix to the longstanding issue of flooding on Speer Avenue.
After heavy rain, Azle City Manager Tom Muir said Speer looks more like a pond than a puddle. The flooding issue on Speer also exacerbates flooding on Industrial Avenue and Roe Street, creating hazardous conditions.
Azle Public Services Director Rick White presented a proposed solution at a March 18 Azle City Council meeting. White emphasized that while the proposed project may not fully resolve the issue, it is a necessary step in mitigating the flooding, particularly on Industrial Avenue.
