Azle Police Department gains approval for crime prevention drone grant
The Azle Police Department may soon be airborne.
During a March 18 meeting, the Azle City Council approved a request to apply for a grant for advanced surveillance equipment aimed at preventing vehicle-related crimes. The Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority grant would provide the department with tools including drones, lowlight vision detection equipment and magnified optics. The proposal was presented by Azle police detective Mike Winterrowd.
