During the week of April 2, 1987, The Azle News Advertiser reported on a “First Ladies Tea” sponsored by a local sorority and featuring many local ladies known by all. Election results showed longtime Azle Mayor C.Y Rone and Reno Mayor D.A. Creamer running unopposed, along with Azle ISD board of trustees candidates Maria Delfeld and Trafford Wrinkle. Several other races were hotly contested. The Azle News Advertiser and Springtown Epigraph publisher Glenn Rea took a position in Cuero, and Bob Buckel was named publisher of the News and the Epigraph.
