One patient was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at an Azle Oaks Apartments building.

Just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, firefighters received a call about a fire in the living room of a single-story unit at the complex and found heavy smoke coming out of the building on arrival. By 11:50 a.m. Lake Worth, Briar-Reno, Azle and Parker County Emergency Service District 1 firefighters had gotten the blaze under control and prevented it from spreading to any other units.

A dispatch report from the Azle Fire Department suggests the fire may have spread to or originated from the attic. The Azle Police Department shut down traffic on parts of Jarvis Lane and directed traffic away from the complex. The American Red Cross was notified to provide assistance to the potentially displaced occupants of the unit.
