AZLE — March 2025 is officially “Theater in Our Schools Month” in the city of Azle. Mayor Alan Brundrett introduced Azle High School Drama Club students and theater teacher Rebecca Crabtree with a proclamation during a March 4 Azle City Council meeting.

“Theater education enriches the lives of countless students in our schools and allows them to discover their myriad skills and abilities in leadership, communication and collaboration and unlocks unlimited potential of the student,” Brundrett read from the proclamation. “If you’ve never been to any of the high school theater plays, they are really awesome and you guys should go check them out.”

Brundrett and the council encouraged the community to recognize and support school theater programs, urging residents to attend performances and celebrate student achievements.

“We spend all of our free time doing this and we all pour our hearts and our souls into this to make something really special for other people to enjoy,” AHS Drama Club Vice President Lyla Castro said. “So, it’s an honor.”
