SPRINGTOWN — The City of Springtown Legends Museum held its “Spring into STEM” experiment last Friday, Feb. 28, using Tri-County Reporter newspapers. Springtown Museum Coordinator Amy Hedges created the experiment as an engineering project to turn newspapers into a stool strong enough to hold the weight of a person using nothing else but tape. Hedges asked the kids to bring in a design sketch of their ideas.

The kids try out their successful engineering project.

The kids also used the newspapers as telescopes.

Hedges teaches kids how to use tape to connect the newspapers together and build a structure stable enough to hold the weight of a person.
