SPRINGTOWN — The Springtown Police Department released its annual report for 2024 at the Feb. 27 Springtown City Council meeting. Deputy Chief of Police Jamie Oliver presented the report as well as the annual racial profiling report, the Group A Offense report and the UCR report.
“We did really good this year,” Oliver said, “We just continue to grow. We stay busy. The guys work hard.”
In 2024, the SPD’s staff included the deputy chief of police, director of public safety, CID sergeant, SRO sergeant, eight patrol officer positions, two corporals, six school resource officers, telecommunications supervisor and four telecommunications officers.
SPD responded to 18,411 calls for service in 2024.

• Here were the top selfinitiated calls for service:
• 9,746 extra patrols/security • 8,826 traffic stops
• 822 suspicious persons/ vehicles
• 6,543 total warnings
• 4,832 total citations Fraud offenses range from stolen credit cards or bank accounts to spam calls. There were 66 thefts and 50 fraud offenses reported to the SPD this past year. Most of these offenses occur in the commercial areas of the city. The offenses that occurred in the residential areas of the city can be classified as crimes of opportunity such as the theft of bicycles and lawn equipment left unsecure or out in a yard. There were five burglaries reported to the department in 2024.
SPD made 402 arrests for various offenses this year.
These arrests cover on-view and warrant arrests for misdemeanor and felony offenses. Of the total arrests, 158 were for outstanding warrants from SPD and other law enforcement agencies throughout the area and state, while 244 were on-view arrests. There were zero reports of homicide or rape in 2024.
The Texas Department of Public Safety collects information about crimes in Texas to determine the crime rate. In 2024, the City of Springtown reported 92 Part I offenses, including criminal homicide, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny-theft and motor vehicle theft.
There were two reported robbery cases, 47 reported assault cases with 20 cleared by arrest or exceptional means. Five burglary cases were reported, with four cleared, 31 larceny-theft cases were reported with two cleared and seven reported motor vehicle theft cases with one cleared.
