Woman, 65, struck and killed by vehicle on SH 199

SPRINGTOWN — A 65-year-old female pedestrian standing in the eastbound lanes of State Highway 199 was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday night, Feb. 16, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Emergency responders located the woman’s body lying in the eastbound lanes of SH 199.

The pedestrian was identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 65-year-old Renee Gonzalez of Springtown; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the 2017 Honda Accord was identified as an 18-year-old Azle woman who remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The accident was investigated by Parker County DPS Trooper N. Morgan.
